Hourglass

I am not scared of Death. Nor am I afraid of Oblivion or Obliteration.
There is only one Fear that toys my Mind; it is not Dying or Extermination.
The cruel Master that enslaves me is time, Second, Minute, Hour, Day, Year.
I want to live Forever in Memories, but I can’t I’m another Victim of my Fear.
Eventually there will be no Memories left, no matter the Marks we may leave.
There will be no one left to feel the Hurt, to Sob, to Wail, to Grieve.
So when my time comes to leave this World, I will have a dying Request:
To Mark the World for as long as I can, the longer I exist in Memory: the longer I will not Rest

In 8 lines you have described the terror I have attempted to portray in many of my writes.
in the end, nothing matters right?
in just a few generations time we will be forgotten.
so we might as well never existed?
we need to make some kind of lasting mark, make some kind of difference for it to even make sense.
but it doesn't matter because it never will anyway.
nice to know I am not aloneÂ
or I've completely misinterpreted your poem.
eithe way it was beautifully writtenÂ

You completely understood the poem, and I am glad that someone else shares in my perspective of the world, thank you x
Kristy and Jenni,
each existence shall have an indelible mark placed upon all our lives, for instance this poem has brung together you both, with the same frame of mind set and the difference it has made, is the fact, that you both now realize, that you are not the only recipeants of the mind set and feelings, you both thought existed, only in your individual selves, but there are many many more, out there, that feel the same as you (2) do.So all we say and do, makes a difference, not only in our lives but in the lives of all those, that we come to meet and greet in life as well.Every action has an allotted and equally and sequential, (either positive or negative) reaction and one way are another, it has an impact and leaves a lasting mark, on the lives of all paths, we may cross. If there exist no memories, we are limited to the present and the future, thus loosing all  regards and claims to our past.....Interesting line..

I am glad that this poem also brought deep feelings to you and I am glad that you enjoyed it, your perspective on life is both terribly interesting and stupendously wise. Thank you for sharing that with me, I am glad that my favourite line is the one that you found most interesting.
Thanks again,
Kirsty
