How does one

How does one

How does one put a smile on their face
Then go throughout the day and act like everything’s great
How does one keep going
How do they not feel like a phony
No one can be that happy
No one can feel such bliss
This world is dark enough to make some people cut their wrists
They can’t pretend not to see the evil in our world
To see the hatred
To see the ones who kill
People are dying
Family’s crying
No one knows what’s around the next turn
Will they be the ones who finally get burned
This world is a dark and scary place
Causing more lives to go to waste
How can people go a day without crying
Without thinking of the starving and dying
So tell me how
How does one live one happy day
And still not see the bodies that lay
