Poem -

HUNGER

An inner emptiness is apparentĀ

on the face of a waif vendingĀ

NEWS on the pavement.Ā

The stack at his feetĀ

is in a languageĀ

which will remain

alien to his comprehension.Ā

Still to earn to liveĀ

he has to sell thisĀ

mute writing on newsprint.Ā

His desolation is deadlierĀ

than an organic breakdown.Ā

The messageĀ

waxes eloquent in his eyes.

His hunger is forĀ

Speech and not for food.Ā

Hi R.P, Ā that's a sad and angry position to be in. Well written. Warm regards.
