Hurting Through Acceptance

Hurt it can break you, if you choose to hide.
Sadness willingly takes you, feeds on your lies.
Find yourself drowning immersed in pride.
Creatures of deep surface inside.
Each one of them takes a hold.
Anticipating the taste of your soul.
Feel the familiar, haunting from the past.
Chilled claws cut like glass.
Hurting through acceptance, through pain we grow.
Sympathy isn't love...rather a cloak for show.
Relive old patterns, in our dream like state.
If I dwell here anymore...I fear, I seal my fate.
All encompassing, the grip is forceful.
Swallows me whole...what am I here for?
Hurt it can heal you, if your of strength.
But inside you hide, behind your fence.
Have words to speak, replaying in our heads.
But the icy grip below, freezes us instead.
Fear is torture, we store in ourselves.
Battling the demons, from the books on our shelves.
Laced with emotions, dipped in dark potions.
Can't seem to move the toxic commotion.
Hurting through acceptance, through pain we grow.
Sympathy isn't love...rather a cloak for show.
Relive old patterns, in our dream like state.
If I dwell here anymore...I fear, I seal my fate.
Find comfort in the silence, while we are apart.
Do we have the courage, to speak from the heart?
Hurt it can be raw, overwhelmingly expansive.
Susceptible to another your splintering heart is.
Or hurt it can fuel us, push us to search.
Births a desire to face, the rogue that lurks.
To address the hurt, one must swim deep.
Takes courage to face the monsters beneath.
Hurt can bring love, hurt can bring pain.
But left unchecked, one's sure to go insane.
Hurting through acceptance, through pain we grow.
Sympathy isn't love...rather a cloak for show.
Relive old patterns, in our dream like state.
If I dwell here anymore...I fear, I seal my fate.
