I AM JUST SO THANKFUL

There are no words that I can write
 No words that I can say
 No words describe what’s in my heart
 What’s in my heart today
 I am just so thankful
 For all you’ve done for me
 You picked me up and cleansed me
 And sat me on your knee

 You didn’t say "you have no worth
 You are no use to me"
 I don’t deserve the things you’ve done
 You cut the chains and set me free
 It wasn’t in a moment though
 It has taken many years
 Through all the grief and heartache
 And many many tears

 You never did forsake me
 You held me firmly by the hand
 Led me through all the destruction
 Into a different land
 A land where you supply my needs
 Each and every day
 Not forgetting the special things
 And the love you did convey

 You held me in those gentle arms
 And said "come and sit a while"
 While I rested in your presence
 Did I even see you smile?
 Soon it was time to move along
 There were things you had to do
 For I was just a vessel broken
 Which you needed to renew
 The renewing is ongoing
 It will take some time
 Father I surrender all
 Let your ways be mine
