I am more than a number

Since when do we let numbers define our worth 
Why do they have to define our place on this earth 
They decide our future and where we fit 
And what we will do and when we do it 
Numbers now define what we think of ourselves 
They make people judge you, they even contribute to our health 
They decide wether we’re proud or ashamed or in trouble 
But I wish someone could burst this ugly bubble 
I’m more than numbers on a computer screen 
I am more than statistics. 
I might only be a 3 in maths and a 5 in my looks 
Because I couldn’t remember all the information from those ancient school books 
But in common sense I’m an 8, and in kindness I’m a 10 
I’m so completely selfless but actually, then again 
When does anyone care or ask about who you are 
They skip strait to test results and getting very far 
And I know it’s important and I’m not saying I don’t care 
But doesn’t it matter more if you’re a good person and not if you’re 100% all there 
Because you might be very smart but does that matter in life 
If you have nothing to show for it, like friends or a wife?  
You might be high numbers on a computer screen
 but I’d rather be dumb and kind than smart and mean 
Now not all smart people are mean, I’m not saying that 
But I’m saying numbers don’t define who we are and thats a fact
So next time you tell me I’m a 3 or a 1 or a 7 
I’m not gonna Care because I know really I’m an 11 
Because I don’t fit your certain box and I know that numbers don’t really matter 
And even if my confidence takes a bit of a batter 
I know. that I. am a queen 
That I am more than a number on your silly computer screen
