I am Yemen

I am Yemen

a hideous lurching famine

leathered skull upon a knotted stick

is all what i be

my ribs quiver with the weight of nothing

inner flesh consumes outer

sacks of death

adorn cliff-face cheeks

lavendar lips complemet

the grey-blue in my fading skies

withdrawing beneath a desert

a dry and bitter swamp

drains out the slag in my veins

into my twisting guts

reversing the vitality

that once fed my feet

my nipples

now my heart grows silent

swallow strains upon each vulture hour

breath rejects its cave

the wik flickers in a rising drown of wax

the soul wanes

pain replaced by nausea

mind floats out to a black sea
