I died

I have been dead since birth
not yet buried or burned
they tried, I suppose
to get some life into me
but it wasn't going to be
I didn't respond 
couldn't engage
there was no sign of life
that they recognised
the development ceased
nothing more they could do
nothing more they wanted to do
I was deceased
I lived for a while

and then I died
