I felt a thud

I felt a thud

I was blinded by the light
with the scorching sun shining in my sight
I had looked right and left and right again but the dazzle on the road was such an eye strain
As I edge forward sitting in my car
Luckily I was only crawling so I hadn’t went far
All of a sudden and from out of the blue
I felt a thud on my front bonnet and I was in a right stew
Had I hit something ? someone or another car ?
I couldn’t see anything it was so bizarre

So I reversed my motor and pulled in to the side
There was plenty room coz the road was very wide
I knew I had driven under an old stone bridge and when I looked above me two boys were running along a ridge
But when I saw the dent on the front of my car
and there lying on the ground was a long metal bar
These two idiots thought it would be fun to target the cars below them with debris and run
I was instantly furious
Steam was coming from my ears
Did these young lads not think about their actions with guilt and fears

Well I rang the police and they came to my house
but they couldn’t really do anything but talk to me and my spouse
Honestly nowadays don’t some things make you feel sick
Those two silly lads must be absolutely thick
Mind you it could have easily been worse
If that metal rod had come through my screen I would be needing more than a nurse
Needless to say I was as right as rain tho my car needed a new bonnet which was such a pain
