I Gave You All My Best Years

Inspired By Sparrowsongs’
“Terminated and Abandoned”
A person devotes a quarter of a century
Of their lives to a company
Then walks into work one day
To find that their position has been terminated.
After being given thirty minutes to pack up
Their belongings under close scrutiny
They are escorted out.
They are given a minimum stipend and lose
All their hard earned retirement account.
Some try to sue, but Big Brother’s
Attorneys, eat theirs alive.
Their dreams are now nightmares,
Terminated and abandoned.

Hello Larry...
When a person comes that close to retirement it's way too common in that they find themselves under scrutiny...
Companies don't want to pay the pensions and they make had for the employee...
Hoping they can find a reason to terminate...
You can compare it to an inmate in prison...
When they are up for release people will do things to put the person in a position so they will get more time...
You described the challenges that happen too much...
All the years devoted job...
Well done if you received $1.50 for a raise in a year?
Thank you for the honor...
Great message...
Thank you for sharing...
Love, Peace, and HugsÂ

Hi Sweet Sparrowsong,
You are so right. Â A lot of corporate America only thinks of the profit margin, and nothing about the employees who have made them what they are. Â Linda worked in corporate America for over 40 years and unfortunately there are way too many stories such as this happening. Â Thank you for your very insightful comments, and the beautiful poem which started it all.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
Linda and Larry xxx
