I hear my old friend calling...

I hear my old friend calling...

Whiskey on the rocks staring at a neon sign, smiling then crying wondering what happened to my life
My reflection in the empty glass tells me to have another
It feels like a lifetime since I kissed that lipstick smile of my beautiful wife and used a tissue to wipe

I know a girl and Hanna is her name
She kisses me, her lips taste like cocaine
The clock ticks until the glove fits, I know the time is right but she wants to chase
All the colours of the rainbow are nestled away into my soul
But I am colour blind and search for beauty on my own

The dragon is blazing
Sipping whiskey wasted
Barmaid shouts last orders
I hear my old friend calling

The bible was my friend, my tool, my way to live a happy ending
The pages are instilled somewhere in my heart, the beat is still reading
I was travelling many roads with dark souls just pretending
I hope to one day conjour up the courage to conquer and keep breathing

The goodness in oneself hides
But it's the shadows that I ache
If I survive
Its not from the light
But it's from the darkness that gave
I hear my old friend calling
I here him calling...

Wayne, i love this, especially the cocaine lips, it's like an oasis song but with more depth. Pinned it.
