I HOPE BECAUSE…

I hope because I must comprehend
An origin sequestered by theophany;
A promise that is perfectly
Ensconced in my sacrosanct heart
As it guards the ideal of "faith"
And my desire to welcome its travail
Through sedimentary matter;
To the assembled facts of existence
And my life's vital occupations.

I hope because my senses fail
In this corporeal dimension;
But inside "hope" the feeling
Of animate being becomes
A living and active verb
Which contains predestination
To accomplish all "fulfillment".
This hope is not mere ambition…
It is an omniscient certainty.

I hope because my heart
Will heed the whisper
Of a canon unfettered
By efforts to assemble
Through finite means, its outcome.
A definable "hope" would fail
The test of faith for ephemeral
Laws require human proofs…
Their natures transitory and erratic.

I hope beyond what I am
And wait for its manifestation
Out of the endless azure of Heaven
Where my soul will thirst no longer.
