Poem -

I know what I am

I know what I am

The devil sowed seeds of sin in my mind,
but I don't understand why God was still kind.
He knew my thoughts was out of line,
but he fought for my soul and said she is mine.

My God found me when I was wretched and lost.
When my imagination ran wild, I needed him the most.
Fearing the fiery flames and eternal separation
from my Lord, made we desire a pure imagination.

Tears welled up in my eyes when I confessed my sins,
I told the Lord I know what I am, I am so unworthy,
I don't deserve your love, you are so praiseworthy.
I told the lord to depart from me and take His spirit.

As the tears rolled down my cheeks while repenting,
I felt His warm sensation on my back, so refreshing.
My God touched me and made me whole.
Now I will praise Him for saving my soul.

I know what I am, a worthless sinner,
but now I know what my God is, a merciful father.
My God has looked upon me with kindness and great love,
in return I give Him all my love.
