I Live Here

I live here incognito
A faceless face among a town of changing faces
Tides and seasons
Rhymes and reasons.
A sleeper sleeping deeply
Far from the madness
But still imbued with sadness
Memories haunt my waking hours.
Alcohol verboten floods my veins with its soporific spell
And journeys into Hell
But I have seen a man-made Hell
Spawned of Dajaal
Where no woman or child
Remains unbroken.
I live here
Far from the fractured wings
Of broken angels
Far from the smoking rubble
And cries of the fallen.
I am surrounded by Beauty
Opulence
A surfeit of food, wine and music
All that is good,
God's grace.
I live here incognito
A faceless face among a sea of changing faces
Tides and seasons
Rhymes and reasons.
