I longed for senses

I longed for the touch
Of strong hands
Around my waist
Tight so as not to let me slip through their fingers like sand.
I longed for the smell
Of musk cologne
On a neck that I could shower with kisses
That only my lips could plant there like saplings.
I longed for the sound
Of laughter
Ringing through the halls and down the stairs
And still echoing come the evening like the softest of lullabies to hush me to sleep.
I longed for the taste
Of you
Pressed against my lips
Slipping sweet nothings in like honey with every peck.
I longed for the sight
Of a future
With a white dress and two little blue cotton socks
Each holding happiness within them like butterflies concealed in a cocoon just waiting to reveal their wings.
I longed for senses
Which I had lost sense of on my own
But how wonderful they could be
If only they had you to re-awaken them.
