I Lost Faith in My Faith

I have always wanted to have a rich connection with God.
As a child my relationship with him
was a string stretching across the boundary of
the heavens and the Earth
with two tin cans tied to the either end.

Neither one of us were deeply attached to
one another.
He was a long lost relative that sent holiday cards every
once in awhile
to remind us that the other still exists.
