Such a powerful write. Mental health is a cruel affliction and we often forget the terrible effect on family and friends also. I have a family member who suffers terribly and so do we...hugs ?
OMG...this is awesome. I like the way "I love you mummy" is used against the negative treatment by the mother. And the last verse just brings tears to the eyes. All that little boy goes through and yet he still says that...because he DOES love her. Mental illness severely affects the nearest and dearest. You have written an awesome awareness write, here. Very well done x
This is a true story of my own, I wrote it originally to beat it, I thought if I could write it from my sons point of view then i could beat it and it worked slowly but surely a year on I'm finally making progress, the last verse is something we actually say before bed every night, even when I read this myself I fill up so to hear that people understand in a wy they can feel my emotion throughout it means the absolute world, thankyou so much xx
