I Miss My Dad

For once in my life I don't know what to say
I can't express this sorrow that came when you went away
I miss you so much the pain is to great for me to bare
My heart and spirit are broken far beyond repair
Much more than a father the guiding force in my life
Without you to lead me I have done nothing right
Please forgive my weakness I'm no longer the man you taught me to be
I don't have the strength that you instilled it was replaced by misery
With you we were so strong a family of love your sons men on whom you could relay and trust
But just like water on steel our tears turned our strength to rust
Over a year has passed yet time has not dulled the pain
Every day I relieve that night every day it feels the same
If I had to choose one sentence to sum up the worst feelings I've ever had
I would have to say simply MISS MY DAD
