I Miss My Melodee

I Miss My Melodee

Today, June first in fifty-three, two queens there came to be;

The first one was “Elizabeth”, the second, my sister “Melodee”!

For on Lizzies’ Coronation Day, my dear Melodee was born;

No longer then an only child, her I did so honestly adore!

Nine years older, I was her protector, and she my little sis;

She would come to me with problems, when something was amiss!

I remember chaperoning her sixteenth birthday, as I watched her dancing with a boy;

She had her arms around him, and I thought, “my sisters no longer coy”!

She went off to go to college; I was on my second wife;

She graduated with lots of honors, then started her business life!

She met a guy in her division, and four months later they were wed;

The truth be told I never liked him, but that to her, I never said!

I know that he abused her, with his acid tongue, but not with his oafish hands;

For in twenty-five years, she’d gained a lot of weight, keeping up with his demands!

Nine years ago, she took her own life, he drove her to the brink;

Today would have been her sixty-third, and when “he” dies, I’ll be tickled pink!

Hello Larry...

Very heartbreaking...

The guy that brought her to her breaking point...

Don't give him more power by your anger and...

Block something good...

Even if it's just your peace for starters...

I am sorry for the your loss...

Thank you for sharing your story...

Hugs...

Oh Larry, this is heartbreaking sweetie.

You`ve written this so well and from the beautiful heart and soul that you have. I`m sure that Melodee has read it and is smiling at you and surrounding you with her love and her pride in you. I think emotional bullying is as bad as physical cruelty because the hurt never goes away. Your Melodee has suffered terribly but you can be sure that your love and devotion is making her happy and proud of her big brother and her hero. She is still with you my darling and she`s so proud of you just as I am. Well done for writing such a beautiful birthday poem for her, she is thrilled I`m sure of that.

God bless her and you my darling and Linda.

Love G xx
