I Must Love Kicking Myself In The Ass

After a while of near misses
Its a miracle if I come out unscathed,
This ass is plagued with anything but kisses
The more unwise the game of life is played.

Let me sulk into regret
Im not done messing up just yet,
I know the feeling will eventually pass
But I must love........kicking my own ass.

Im aware that everyone makes mistakes
Some more than others,
If I could find the pedal and pump the breaks
To see there's so much more not yet discovered.

Every time that I am up
I fall hard from the top,
My short lived rise can never last
I'll continue........... kicking myself in the ass.

I stay bitter from bad choices
Becoming unnoticeably wise,
Keep your head up say the supportive voices
Looking for the truth hidden in all the lies.

I hope one day nothing eats at me in rest
And all the things I've done were for the best,
Bear hugging an American dream fading fast
To stop..........the kicking of my own ass
