I need to write you

a love poem

As turgid as the river

 that flows so headstrong

with the spring thaw

of the melted snows.

Fast and filled

with passion

Collecting all

in its current

Swirling and dangerous

So rapid

 it threatens

 to take us with it

Into the ocean

where we will

Be lost forever

in its depths

so fast that we must

hold each other

step back and

hold each other

or we will drown

together

in its dark raging waters
