I Pledge Allegiance

I pledge you my allegiance, my “love” that had to part;

Our bond will not be broken; you will never leave my heart!

I’ll honor you with sweet odes, that pay homage to your soul;

Your gentle loving spirit, I forever shall extoll!

You were the sweetest angel, you came from far above;

God knew just what I needed, the purest kind of love!

So He sent you down to heal me, and start my life anew;

The finest of His cherubs, the wonder that was you!

You landed at my doorstep, immersed in golden light;

It surrounded me in goodness; I loved you at first sight!

For years you worked your magic, you kept me in a trance;

You took me to Nirvana; our souls together danced!

But angels have commitments, and eventually have to leave;

God needs them up in Heaven, for others to relieve!

So one night you had to go back, but before you left you’d say;

I pledge you my allegiance, we’ll reunite one glorious day!
