I Said Goodbye Today

I had to say goodbye today
Someone took me away
I lay on the ground with the rain beating down
I didn’t want to leave today
My eyes grew tired and my legs turned cold
I wasn’t even that old
My sister came and licked my face
I couldn’t move to tell her to stay
My mommy found me with my eyes open wide
The look in her eyes she was petrified
I lay on the ground with the wind whistling away
Begging for someone to take this pain away
I didn’t want to say goodbye today
But someone decided to take me away
The hole in my head was too hard to heal
The same as the bullet as someone had sealed
My fate was held in a cruel man’s hand
Someone who thought I didn’t deserve to stand
I had to say goodbye today
Because you took me away
As I lie in fear
I know you won’t shed a tear
My eyes are closing it is time to say goodbye
To the life that I shared with other creatures the same as I
My life was good my sisters too
But to that you didn’t have a clue
You saw me there not doing a thing
An innocent a baby to you not worth saving
The pain you caused too much to bare
For my family who care
I had to say goodbye today
Because you took me away
As I lie here now I reminisce of all the things
 I’m going to miss
The cuddles the food
The humans too
Who loved me
And who I loved too
My head is hurting
And now I know
That is my time to go
My eyes look around one last time
To see the life, I leave behind
They never wanted to say goodbye to me today
But you took me away
