Poem -

I saw her soul.

I saw her soul.

I saw her soul

Deep beneath the course exterior of her laughter,

A smart twist of words in her comments thereafter,

The interior of a curved frame,

Lay her soul encased in the shell of Jesus’ name.

A tear.

A frown.

I saw her soul.

Her soul, she emitted an effervescent glow.

A light which I didn’t know.

I walked on the bridge between her heart and her mind,

Closer to the warmth I so dearly wanted to know.

I saw her soul.

A glimpse into her eyes

The shadow of her heart shielded me, prepared me, lead me.

Now I know

I saw her soul.
