I shout “MUMFORD BEHAVE!!”

A fisherman’s daughter I shall always be as I stroll sandy shores and I plodge in the sea..there is nowhere else that stimulates me, with a heart that is wholesome and a feeling of carefree..
So as I sit in my car and I drive to the coast, to wander the seaside and haunt like a ghost..coz this is the scenery that I love the most, and our Northumbrian coastline is so worthy of boast..with a zing in my step and a zest in his tail, me and my mut has the wind in our sail..I gasp as I breath in briney air and exhale.. my pleasurable heart of my homelands cocktail..Both of us kick up the sand and we jump every wave, my dog wades in deeper, he is ever so brave.. as he splashes me senseless I shout “MUMFORD BEHAVE” I shall soak up this ambience and carry it to my grave..

Oh this is lovely! What a gorgeous picture you have painted here. Roaming a quiet stretch of the coast. Dog having a great time. Waves. Seagulls. Sand. Salty air. Seaweed.
My experience was not fun. The last time I took Oscar to the coast he started swimming towards the horizon (Oscar loves swimming) I was yelling at him to come back and on and on he went... Oblivious. I was calling, the kids were calling, my sister was calling. Nope. Oscar was swimming. Thoughts in my head were not helpful. "He's going to reach the Isle Of Wight soon," I screamed (we were at West Wittering). And just when I wondered if the Life Guard would actually go and get a wayward dog from half way across the Solent (okay slight exaggeration there... But he is my baby)... He turned around and came back. I am NEVER letting Oscar off the lead at the coast again. I'm not!
Great write Jill x
