I Waited

I Waited

I Waited for your return
Endless days turned into  endless  nights without a light at the end of the tunnel

I waited for our worlds to collide
But fate had other designs
And the roaring crashing sea
Closed ever in on me

Worlds apart
Que sera  sera
What will be will be
The incoming tide washes over me

So.its goodbye blue  sky
Farewell little green
Adieu to the music that made it all last
The present can't be saved
by living in the  past

So the curtains  are  closing
Time for worlds anew
Galaxies are waiting
For lost souls
Painted blue

I'll carry all my memories
Some black
Some painted new
To worlds in distant  galaxies
Where life on Earth's reviewed

So no more howling banshees
No more drunken pews
No more dancing jesters
No more thoughts of you

I waited a lifetime
Lost all track of reason and rhyme
For that one sublime moment
We were blended in time.
