Poem -
I Wear The Mask

I wear the mask that grins and lies
I swallow truth and tears it hides,
The hurt inside my heart does bare-
A soul alone, full of despair
An inner secret, covered by smiles.
Each day in fear of unknown troubles
Each comment made, the pain doubles
A story taken to the grave, while
I wear the mask.
A heart cries out, muffled my anguish
Another life, for this I wish.
My secret hidden beneath a sleeve-
I pray of this world, I could leave
I’m holding back, hiding the truth, now and always
I wear the mask.
