Poem -

I WEPT

I watched as black
Began to fall
And on your head
A rain did squall
A putrid drenching waterfall
And I wept

I watched you flail
In waters deep
The droplets splashed
Around my feet
And I wept
And wept and wept

For I could not save you
Sweetest soul
Who suffered torment

Raw and bold
Just hold you as you
Shook with cold and cried

Just told you
That I understood
Was here for you
Through the bad and good
And I wept
I wept

For you tried so long
And you tried so hard
To shake the demons arm

Until the day
You found release
Wrapped up in angels balm

And I knew your face
Once more at peace
For I saw relief
And I saw release
And I knew for once
I should not weep

But I wept and wept and wept.

Hi my friend, I watched my son go through a terrible time and the helplessness as a parent is horrendous. My son is fine now but the memory of it all scars us. Thankyou Cherie for reading and commenting ?
