I Wish I Didn't Know

I Wish I Didn't Know

A face holding feelings of a lifetime.
I wish I didn't know I wish I didn't know that children die.
I wish I didn't know that is at the hand of another.
I wish I didn't know the ice is melting, the oceans rising.
I wish I didn't know people are hungry.
I wish I didn't know people steal and lie.
I wish I didn't know that if I needed help you would drive by without stopping.
I wish I didn't know that the bank would take our home.
I wish I didn't know that they see me as only a number.
I wish I didn't know all the things that hurt me of faith.
That brings tears when I look at my children and breaks my heart, hardening it.
