I Wondered Once Who Poets Were

 I wondered once who poets were, there wisdom so intrigued me
Somehow sculpting every word to give each poem meaning
With words they capture moments, with words they freeze all time
Words no one has known, words that simply rhyme

I wondered once who poets were, a very special breed
Moving me with words, words I simply read
Words so true and honest, words that sing and flow
Words he lays upon us, words inside a poem

I wondered once who poets were and how they were inspired
With just a pen and paper, passion and desire
I wondered once who poets were, I never thought I'd find
That one day I might know, what drives a poet's mind
