I wrote You Love Poems

I used to write you love poems.
So long ago.
Waiting for you at the train station.
They were beautiful and just for you
It was dirty and noisy as the trains
Came and went. But I waited
until you arrived home.
So lovely and fresh
Like a sun
in your yellow summer dress.
God! How I loved you,
My poems said how much.
I remember you throwing yourself
Into my arms
lighting up the old station
and my heart.
Time has weighed heavily on us.
You want your freedom from me now.
I will not beg you stay.
Wasting my last breaths
on blowing away the ashes
of what was once us.
Leave then take all we have.
I do not want it anymore.
Make a final journey to the old station.
Board the next train
to the city lights.
I shall remain here alone
In my chair.
Writing beautiful love poems.
Still all for you.
Poems that I know
You will never understand. .
