Poem -

This Icy December

It's December now and my heart grows cold,

My loved one I want to hold.

I cry as a tear rolls down my cheek,

It freezes in mid glide,

Both inside and outside it is bleak.

Alone with out him in this festive time,

It not the same,

Its been so long since I kissed his face,

so long since I felt even close to sublime.

I walk through a park,

It's grey with no sun to spare

I look to the pond and on the surface I stare.

At my reflection I see a shell of a person who longs for her love,

As I stare the memories flash across my sight,

I see his face so cheery and bright.

He makes me smile,

Only for a while as  the memory fades.

I continue walking on my journey,

This Icy December.
