Poem -

I'd rather sleep my life away

I'd rather sleep my life away

Dream face,

Blank stare,

and

white eyes,

    I see hatred every time

Washed over probing anxiety

and linen, whilst sleeping

commanded my world

at 8 at night with the sun falling

when it was right now with

    A head with a crowd

I hadn't reached for the world yet.

I forgot the clock wasn't set.

I always forget to set the clock.

Fate always knocks

    when you least expect it

I wish I could die

painlessly

on pills

and still write poetry.

Knowing me is the hardest thing I try to do.

Maybe I’ll get famous

with angels,

but still…

    it wouldn't be the same.

I can only turn on

the clock

and hope I don’t get

knocked out again.

My head is filled with helium

Zen, you elude me.

The residue of chi

tells he

I must take the heat

and that I must

feel weak

to know my own strength.

Angst…you know me all too well
