Poem -

If

If you took all the tears in the world
And put them in a bowl
Each one would be a story
That was left untold
Each time someone hurt you
No matter how small
It leaves an imprint on your heart
It won’t ever leave, not at all
If you took all the sadness
And locked it up tight
You couldn’t keep it from getting out
It puts up quite a fight
If you hide away from pain
And stay hidden from sight
It will just ruin your strength
It will require all your might
So all the tears in a bowl
Are stories untold
Each time someone hurt you, no matter how small
It won’t leave at all
All the sadness can’t be locked up tight
It puts up to much of a fight
And hiding breaks us faster than anything else
Cause hiding is pretending to be someone else
