If I Felt in Color

If I felt in color,
Then my passion would be red,
Blue would be my sorrow,
And black would be my dread,
Green would signal hope,
Blue would favor trust,
Yellow would be my rope,
And pink would color lust,
If I felt in color,
I'd paint my emotions away,
My pain would grow duller,
And my heart would be there to stay,
But if I felt in color,
And painted emotions away,
Would my happiness too grow duller?
Would my laughter decide to stay?
I guess that is the price,
For painting emotion away,
For finally rolling the dice,
And putting my feelings to play,
You lose all of your feelings,
Both good as well as bad,
You strip away the peelings,
Until you finally see what you had,
But now it's too late,
Too be free from this reverie,
I've sealed my fate,
So now all that remains is a memory...
