If I must go away---by Jude Kyrie

If I must go away---by Jude Kyrie

If I must go away
to your hallowed place.
take me on a summer day
with a sunlit face
and the air is still
and the flowers bloom
and the nightbird's shrill
in a hunter's moon
if I must go away

if I must go away
take me as the lilacs bloom
and the songbirds sing
A summer's tune.
and the blossoms fall
in the fragrent air
and the summer songs sing
without a care
if I must go away

if I must go away
and leave this world
It will be easier to say goodbye
when the buds unfurled
and the flowers sing
to a cloudless sky.

If I must go away
if I must go away
if I must go away
