(ii) Flaring

Lines envelop
my words.
Missing among moon’s working
line by child is,
for you, my child, are walking
through a forest of senses,
invisible among the trees
barefoot by nakedness
(yet:
I feel the soles of your feet
moisty winds on your skin);
who were you
and, when I find the way
to the times we shared,
will you be there −
past that boundary
now
showing its face…
glowing, flowing,
preceding the shadows,
I will put down my pale
and mark these days again
as my own lands.
this life there always was a child.

Hello John, I really enjoyed this. I think childhood is so brief, which I think is reflected in your choice of title. I think the value of childhood becomes ever more present the longer we are adults. A part of us will always long to bring back that child within us. To know them one more time. To know innocence as a child does. It’s precious and you captured that here I believe.
wonderful poem
All the best

almost forgot to ask…is the photo yourself ?
Hi, Gwen, at the turning of thr year I say thank you for your take on Flaring. Rereading it, I can say that you are quite close to my intention... It is no 2 in a series of five, in which I try to find and bring back to ease the inner child that keeps replaying the childhood trauma's that have bothered me for God knows how many years unnecessarily 🙄. I will probably put no 3 up tomorrow now the translation has been approved by my wife... Yes, the child was innocent and had no understanding of what was going on in my world. However, coming to an 'understanding' between the two of us, gave me back my 'being game for life' ✌️🤣. Happy new year to you and yours
Ooh John I must find number one and then read them all in order 😉
childhood can subconsciously shape our reactions in adult life. I think your words can speak for many. I hope your journey proves to be a healing one. It is good you have your wife guiding you and supporting you along the road. All the best for a good 2023 x
Hi, Gwen thanks fot the uplifting comments - and yes, the work is working. I even stood up to stepmum for the bl:%=) & -)ing first time in fifty years (she's quite domineering and can only see her way). Usually she gives us quite a welcome bag of money @Xmas, but then unconsciously demsnds we come and visit at least once a month. We stayed away for half a year, not realizing the money stood in between. The wife realized thid snd I managed to get this across her castle walls🏰. We had the best Xmas at her place ever this year 🤣🎄🎉. So, aye, it be working out well for us. Thanx again and indeed read (i) Fading fire first. Njoy your Sunday.
John it is wonderful to hear you have made progress in your life that has brought such positive results. That your Christmas was a blast 😊💥🎄 May your days continue to be uplifting and fruitful x
Aye, that is why I can have Hope now. The wife won't let me slip back and I have no desire to do so🤣 Life's so much more fun, now
Hi John...I have read all the above comments and also.your thoughtful reflective work...it made me think. I work.a lot with dementia and the dying and you know nearly always and regardless of age most call for mam, want to go home to mam and dad...childhoods have a powerful effect on us...those first spirits we encounter on this plane shape us forever. Great write x
Thank you for this, makes me understand your work better too and your drive/need to write, almost for those who have lost their voices to dementia (especially my mum losing hers hurt, her being an artist and poet too unable to express a single coherent thought in the end🎨 I salute you for working with those people
