I'll Never be a Superstar

There comes a time in life when you're forced to face the facts
You don't love someone for what they've got, you don't hate him for what he lacks
You learn the simple pleasures that take the place of greed
Uncover buried treasure, you'll want the things you need
I know I'll never be a superstar, just a poet late at night
I don't need to go that far, that's not why I write
You won't catch me crying for fame or your applause
You'll never hear me lying for someone else's cause
I control my curtain, the rise and then the drop
I'll do all my hurting until the hurting's stopped
I know I'll never be a superstar despite expectations from you
I don't want to go that far, nothing left to prove
There comes a time in life when you realize who you are
Suddenly your body has nothing left but scars
I know I'll never be a superstar just a man who likes to write
Thanks to you I can't go wrong, with you too hold each night

True, but one thing you can be is a smashing good poet and a unique person! Besides, I know some interesting half famous people, they get really isolated and feel alone cause everyone wants to talk to them but not for whom they actually are! Not much respect in that. But I love this poem a lot. And if it means anything. I reckon your super Charles. Kind regards. The Fish of the Sea
Thanks fish
