The Illusion Of Free Will

The Illusion Of Free Will

Am I just a brain
Attached to string
Made of wire
Implanting ideas
Of simple things
That I work so hard to achieve
And much harder at failing.

Have I been made
Of cold steel
To be a machine
Forgetting to feel,
Someone else has sold me
Their dream and now I sleep
To dream it too,
But it's another elaborate magic act
Many others fall for as well as you.

I was made to make a choice
To follow
In the footsteps of greed,
I learned about illusions
And how they mislead,
But hear my voice
Coming from the severed brain
From the wires controls insane
Now up top the cold hard steel
I can play good or bad cop
While freely still knowing how to feel.
