I’m an Adult

Teach me like a kid

I’m an Adult, Teach me like a kid.

My childhood was filled with Adult learned lessons.

Until I moved out I had never played offense.

Self-defense mechanisms filled my backpack.

Some lessons physically hurt leaving blisters.

I was forced to always look over my shoulders.

The oldest of four siblings.

I’m an Adult, who never got to be a child.

Teach me like a kid, Adult lessons hurt.

I’m a father, I’m a growing man.

Our boy will be a child,
Our Son will love being a kid.

I guess life is structured that was. Recalling the saying. “Once a man, twice a child.”
Interesting piece.
