I'm Back

I was down and out,

lost in a mental abyss.

Where my thoughts never matched the words,

coming from my quivering angry lips.

The dark clouds have lifted,

How I got there was a mystery,

Until I looked in the mirror & picked up my pen.

Wrote my feelings on paper,

That's when the light bulb went off in my head.

Suppressed emotions,

collated in my cerebral cortex.

I am no longer a slave,

To time or reason,

Procrastination was my new best friend,

As I wondered the lush green fields in my dreams,

Looking for answers written on leaves which had fallen from the trees.

A new lease of thoughts,

Have empowered my soul.

The positive energy & adrenaline released,

When I have exercised my tired body & bones.

The strumming on my guitar,

As my fingers connect,

To the steel strings,

playing to the rhythm of my beating heart,

In the body of a free spirit.

The universe has taken me back in,

As I fell from its arms,

As for a moment in time I was living in the past.

So I waved it goodbye for one last time,

The universe said welcome,

Now its time for your new start.

So now I am back to breath in & expel,

A new type of air,

The one of positivity without the fear,

That any negativity will kidnap my soul never to return again....
