"are you alright?"
you asked me
ever so serious;
your eyes so
careful as if
you might break me.
and that's exactly
what you did,
you shattered me.
and i somehow
replied "yeah"
in such a simple way
as if i was careless.
but a million thoughts
were buzzing in my head
and i'll always wish
i said no.
