Dressed to the brim, I am Shakespearean
blending in I am a chameleon
Who am I my conscience asks me so often
struggling and trying to be OK in my tender skin
can I make it through all my thoughts of destruction
I need to try every day and avoid combustion
constantly feeling the battle of every day life
The next five minutes will be my fight
struggling to get where I need to be every day
I never thought that I would, but now I pray

Those opening lines are KILLER!!..... almost sings itself off of the page.....I swear I thought I was reading some lyric lines by "STING" or something....... just beautiful rhyme scheme, timing, and rhythm in those first five lines......I could write a song to that so easily.......A VERY compelling read sweet poetess!!...... You have my permission to write this song on including my lyrics and I would love to hear it I have had other friends right songs to my poetry and it is a very special and deep connection for me because I do love music. I have been writing since I was a child. But like so many stories in our lives we lose them over the years with moving and traveling from place to place. Now as I see these books and stacks of paper and files I know it's time for me to give my poetry or my pain and happiness in my writing to anyone who finds it inspirational. sure when the time comes to record I will. I've also been writing since I was a child... I've lost a lot of stuff but I've gained so much more because I've learned from what I've lost over time. with the band, we will work on the lyrics as a team...
