I'm OK!

She sits and she cries almost every day.
However when asked, she whispers " I'm ok."
She lifts her face to the heavens and prays.
Hoping they will tell her "you're ok."
Extenuating circumstances always find their way;
mood never swayed.
Angered when people ask "are you ok?"
She screams silently her dismay.
"WHY OH WHY", yet she stresses "I'm ok."
People around her can see her spirits decay.
It's in that moment she declares " I'm ok."
She battles the demons, she runs away.
"Just leave me be, I'm ok"
How can you not see her underplay?
So solemn and alone, she's not ok.
Although she won't tell you straightaway.
All she repeats is "I'm ok!"
If you really know her, find the passageway.
So that when the words come. They are meant. When willfully she admits "I'm not ok!"
Be by her side, your hand on hers you lay.
Do not be afraid for comes the day when you will truthfully say" Yes, I am really ok!"

Wonderful wise words and beautifully constructed. Such truth. Thank you for this work of heart.
A warm thank you to you Jean Y.
This poem took me a couple days to write.
It was written for everyone and anyone who is suffering with depression and anxiety. For people who feel lost and unheard. This is for everyone.
