IMMIGRANT LIFE AND DEATH

Determined to get to the UK at any price
Yesterday they paid the ultimate sacrifice
It was near Calais twenty seven people died
Nowhere to run and nowhere to hide

Immigrants on board a ship heading to our shore
Just wanting a better life and nothing more
Where did they come from it still isn't clear
Makes the story sadder as I stifle a tear

What made their boat sink on that fateful day ?
Again at the moment nobody can say
The people were somebody's sons or daughters
Taken away cruelly by the dangerous waters
