Imperfection
If we're built in God's image; why are we flawed.
God is suppose to be without inadequacy.
But; we are riddled with imperfections.
Have these imperfections always been in us?
Are they in God?
Perhaps humans were like God when life began.
Made inside and out flawless; peaceful.
Was imperfection formed in Adam and Eve
after gaining knowledge of all things?
The knowledge of evil must have stirred wails
which breached peace in their hearts?
Screams must have echoed throughout the garden!
Did the knowledge of evil cause our own imperfections?
Were they handed down generation to generation
until imperfection touched us all?
Perhaps that is why it is said, "all are born with sin"
We cannot find peace knowing of modern evils.
It makes our hearts blaze with fury and fight.
Does this imperfection make us as wicked as evil.
We are so far from Gods perfection.
How do we get back?

Jaimie, this is superb, you are truly one of my favorite poets to read on here, your subject matter is always interesting and so well articulated...love your approach as well, you seem to invite conversation, while holding strong opinions; simply brilliant....this poem in fact speaks of a subject I have very strong opinion on, I've had heated discussions on it as well; having my own very strong religious beliefs, I have embraced the practice of not confronting others who differ in their beliefs; it's mostly a respect thing with me really....in this poem I happen to agree with your approach, and the logic of your very reasonable questions, I embrace procreation; Adam and Eve created by God in His image; perfect, at the introduction of sin their characters began to get tarnished, and became subject to death, and disease and so on, Now if you believe that we are descendants of Adam and Eve we have inherited their sinful nature (this I believe) and with time that nature has diluted... the vitality and perfection that they possessed in the Garden of Eden is gone; in no way do we have today what they had back then; it's like squeezing fresh grapes if possible, a million times over until not much is left of the original fruit...Now I'm not taking God out of the creation process, He after all made them, and we are their seed, but like you said in the write we are born in sin, I believe God offers us more today than they had back then....in this write to implied or said this in the form of a question, again inviting conversation....obviously I enjoyed reading this intelligent write on a most fascinating subject matter...cheers

I do love conversations......what can I learn if I don't probe with questions?......I have strong opinions but I learn nothing if don't listen to others..........I love the idea of squeezing grapes over and over.........this concept maybe use in my writing if you don't mind........
I'm honored Jamie....looking forward
