Poem -

REAL LIVES....(in memory of all the front line workers who have lost their lives)

So I sit in darkness
A tear spills my eye
But does it really matter
That I cry...

The essence of you far away
Another post on Facebook today
As sympathy wishes flood the
page
Your living selves gaze out

Hard workers unprotected
A virus not expected
A working day
What price to payΒ
With you snatched now
away

And families left in heartbreak
And colleagues shocked and sad
Smug faces on the TV spew
We're trying very hard

Shame on you Britain
You had plenty of time
To get it in order
You failed us this time

So I sit in darkness
A tear spills my eye
But does it really matter
That I cry....

It won't bring you backΒ

So sorry I haven't been on, either. As you know, it's been a rough stretch, but it's so good to see your gorgeous words again.Β
Take care, and I'll see you soon.Β

Being Me

Oh Marion this really is sad. I was reading an article today about all the stockpiled ppe.... Stockpiled! In a massive warehouse. ?. I agree with you... We should have gone into lock down far earlier. They knew years ago what our hospitals needed for a future pandemic....and they didn't bother getting it sorted. Now we are in a position where the health workers are being made to work in a danger zone with no protection, risking not only their lives but also that of their family.
Germany appear to be getting it right.

R.I.P Sharon and Jenelyn ?????. xx

There needs to be a HUGE enquiry! They must not be allowed to brush this under the carpet. And they also need to invest very very heavily in the NHS ...to think, 3 years ago they capped all the doctors and nurses pay...absurdΒ  and unfair. I hope they realise now what an important and priceless treasure we have in the NHS.

Hope you are keeping well, Marion...hugs x

Do you know they downgraded this highly contagious worldwide pandemic which spreads like wildfire and for which we have no immunity to a lesser disease in order to justify the downgraded PPE??? We have surgical masks not respiratory masks for confirmed'!!!..I have no words left but tons of anger...real.people...real lives ??

Katina Woodruff...

My heart goes out to you and your friend’s family. This virus didn't happen overnight. I like the tone of your poem because this virus could have been eliminated by the world shutting down much sooner.

We watched the television for a long time about the virus in China, our government waited as well. So worried about the economy and people have lost their lives because of it.

Sending you well wishes and a boat load of, "virtual hugs."Β

The last stanza is emotion packed.Β

Katina...so sorry for late reply...thankyou. yes some countries it appears care about their citizens while others( and wouldn't you know it...the richest ?) couldn't give a hoot!! Couple lost along the way...no problem, so long as enough worker bees are alive to keep them rich!!...shocking!! ?

My Dear Lady Marion,

As in your beloved country, our corrupt President failed us too.Β Β
Your poem is a brilliant expose on "The Slaughter Of The Lambs".

Unlike your beloved "Robin Hood", who stole to feed the poor
The Coronavirus robs the lives of all, a monster so abhorred
Brave Souls tend to the dying, but sometimes fall to it's deadly prey
They join their fellow patients, and painfully slip away

All my love,
Larry xxx
