IN MY MOTHER'S DAY

Things were different in my mother's day
First of all their was none of this equal pay
Women worked hard for so little reward
Only necessities could they possibly afford

In my mother's day they put their kids first
Watching every penny and fearing the worst
However a meal was always there to enjoy
I never starved when I was a young boy

Things have changed for the here and now
A mother's love still remains somehow
Respect them would be my advice to you
They gave you your life that much is true
