in parked parks

sitting in car parks
in parked cars
in parked parks
in green parksÂ
in kids parks
with rain on my face
walking by people
passing by strangers
strangers who flit by
with rain on their face
standing still watching
waiting and watching
observing the movement
whilst not keeping pace
walking through people
people in parked parks
hoping that strangersÂ
might fill up the space
sitting down staring
at randomÂ
not caring
watching the people
with rain on my face

Hello Marion,Â
I love what you have captured here. That feeling of detachment from life. I always refer to it as sitting in a goldfish bowl, watching the world exist without me. There is a feeling of longing to fit in, yet the inability to find a connection with that outer world. So you remain locked inside your own mind, just observing the goings on, beyond the veil of your own personal world. Which now feels like the only reality. The rain feels like the weight of sadness that lingers on the conscienceÂ
Any way I waffle. But I loved the imagery and emotion that formed from this fab poemÂ
