IN SEARCH OF A BETTER LIFE

Living in Vietnam is so hard day after day 
A better life was promised if they came to the UK 
So in a container at the back of a large truck 
Thirty nine people proved to have terrible luck 

All of them suffocated and allowed to die 
The inquest now starts and the question is why
A truck driver is charged with manslaughter 
Meanwhile Vietnamese families have lost a son or daughter 

A terrible true story with a tragic and upsetting end 
Something I find difficult to comprehend  
Life we take for granted that much is so true  
We always have and I'm afraid that's nothing new
